All the public relations verbiage aside, today’s announcement about the formation of Ontario’s Green Energy Hub was nothing less than a true, historical moment. In a nutshell, aboard a boat on the Grand River, what transpired is this: The initiative led by the Chamber of Commerce Brantford Brant is now officially a regionally shared, specifically targeted marketing and economic development strategy that will act as a development organization to attract foreign investment to The Green Hub. The key players include Brantford, Six Nations, and Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk counties. They will be working together, as one, to move the project forward. We at The Green Hub will also be participating, drawing attention to all things green within the area. On the boat cruise this morning, one could not help but be affected by the passionate words of Chief William Montour of Six Nations who spoke about creating a co-operative union to help provide a mountain of opportunities for his people; ensuring a prosperous future for all. This is the beginning, now the real work begins. But what a start.
